Your XOGO Mini media player is designed to play content 24/7 and never needs to be turned off. However, there may be times when you want to turn off your display (TV) in order to save energy and prolong the life of the display. Here are a few ways to do that.
Scheduled Sleep Mode
If you have a commercial display that's meant to be left on all day and used for digital signage, there's a good chance that it has power-save settings in the menus. You may be able to navigate to the display's settings and schedule exactly when it turns on/off each day of the week. This feature is quite common in commercial displays made by NEC, LG, Samsung and others.
Smart Power Strip
If your display doesn't have integrated power-save settings, you might consider plugging your display (TV) and media player into a smart power strip. These WiFi-connected power strips are inexpensive, easy to use, and made by companies like Ubiquiti and Gosund. They allow you to turn the power strip on/off at any time via the cloud, or on a predetermined schedule. Whenever power is restored to your XOGO Mini, it will boot up and automatically begin playing your content. Your display should automatically turn back on as well, but this may vary from one display manufacturer to another, so you'll need to run a test on your actual hardware.
Turn Off Power at the Breaker
Some businesses (i.e. large retailers) turn off power to the entire building at night in order to conserve electricity. This is fine for XOGO Minis and many other types of media players, which will automatically boot up and launch XOGO Player when power is restored. Your display (TV) will likely power back on as well, but you'll need to run a test on your actual hardware to be sure.
